Crest berms play a vital role in protecting haul truck operators and ensuring safe dumping practices. Regulations require that berms are consistently maintained at the correct height and condition. Manual checks alone are not enough.

In partnership with Horts Geo-Solutions and Syperion, Reutech Mining developed the world’s first Berm Monitoring System (BMS). The system uses advanced LiDAR scanning and custom software. It continuously measures berm height and platform conditions, providing automated alerts whenever safety standards are compromised.

By replacing periodic inspections with continuous automated monitoring, the BMS keeps haul and dump routes safe. It protects site personnel and reduces costly downtime.
